Right of Way Acquisition Specialist

Location: Maple Grove, MN

ProSource, a leader in the right of way, acquisition, and relocation industry, is searching for a Right of Way Acquisition Specialist I for a project located in Medina, MN. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, ProSource is poised for expansion and growth and is looking for a great Acquisition Specialist to add to our team.

This position will be worked primarily in Medina, Minnesota, ideal candidate will live within commutable distance.

Description

The Acquisition Specialist I focuses on training, support, and assisted execution for working with landowners, businesses, and other viable entities to acquire rights to easement for assigned projects. This role represents the entry level tier of ProSource’s Acquisition Career Framework.

Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:

The Acquisition Specialist I will be responsible for the following Tasks:

  • Assist with right-of-way acquisitions under the guidance of mid and senior level agents.
  • Identify potential sites and establish contact with landowners.
  • Scheduling of landowner meetings.
  • Completing and delivering documents as required for projects.
  • Provide follow up communication to landowners, project leaders, etc.
  • Assist in preparing offer packages, agreements, deeds, easements, and any acquisition documentation.
  • Work alongside acquisition team to negotiate property leases and purchases with property owners.
  • Support relocation assistance task as assigned.
  • Prepare any reports on a timely basis.
  • Any other task as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in land acquisition, title searches, real estate law, appraisal field or other related fields.

  • Willingness to obtain IRWA certifications as needed.
  • Learn and apply applicable state regulations and policies.
  • Willingness to learn real estate law, ROW processes, and negotiation fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with a group and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Acquisition Agent I will spend a significant amount of time working in the field, using a computer and other standard office equipment. The position will require regular travel to meet with landowners, businesses, or any other viable entities. The job may require sitting or standing for extended periods of time and may involve some light lifting or carrying documents or equipment.
